The girl was looking and looking...Her eyes were huge in agony...After a while she started sobbing.Loudly.Sharply.
"What is it?What is going on? " somebody asked her.
"Where are they? Oh where are they? I had left them right here. I had kept them...Where are they?" the girl was asking in desperation.
"But what are you looking for?" the voice asked again.
" My dreams...I lost my dreams..." the girl shouted and fell into her knees.
"I had put them right here...I had put them in a box and I had stored them with love. I was told that if I stored them with love they'd never be lost."
"But don't you know my child?"the voice asked."Haven't you heard for the Thieves of dreams?"
"Thieves of dreams? But how? Who are they?" the girl mumbled.
"They are shadows of men. They have lost everything now and there is nothing left but the shadows of what they used to be."
"And what do they do?"asked the girl.
"They lurk in the dark and watch were people hide their dreams and secretly go and steal them."
"And then? What do they do with them afterwards?" the girl asked with a trace of hope in her voice.
"They throw them, they put them away, they tear them, to get lost, never come back."
"But love? Doesn't love stop them?" the girl wondered.
"My child, love doesn't touch the Shadows. They can't either feel it or never did they. Once it was given to them but they denied it and that's why they became what they are now."
"Why do they steal them?"she asked.
"Because they envy this that they never desired. Because they don't want happiness or hope to exist. They don't like the results of love."
"But who would do something like that?Who would steal dreams?Who would deny love?"mumured the girl.
Silence.
"Who are they who steal our dreams?'she yelled.
And she started crying.
